My attempt at blingin' out my brace;)
Please bear with me and my slow reply/blog visitations the past few days. This time, I don't have the usual internet/laptop problems excuses (lol!), instead my right hand is out of commission due to carpal tunnel. The doctor ordered me to stay away from the computer and wear the brace above until further notice:( It's my own fault for ignoring the signs nearly a month ago (i.e. weakness in my hand, wrist pains, etc.) and now the pain has extended to my forearms. I'm right handed and sadly, simple tasks such as blow drying my hair and brushing my teeth causes discomfort. Ugh! Even typing for just a few minutes yield discomfort and pain (I know I'm being a noncompliant patient right now by blogging haha). I'm determined not to allow carpal tunnel to bring me down...here are a few small details that are getting me through the week:)

Getting into the holiday spirit with this USB powered mini Christmas tree from Target (just $6.99!). It makes me smile as it stands in all its glitz while I work:)
I seriously could not keep still this weekend and took my brace off to make these sweet potato fries. Totally worth the momentary discomfort;) I also made a refreshing dip with this recipe via The Worldwide Gourmet.

The Christmas tree was up early at my parents' home. We LOVE the holidays and we're attempting to extend the cheery decor as long as possible haha!

To my US Pals, who's ready for Turkey Day and some Black Friday craziness?? I have been (slowly, but surely) compiling a list of notable sales for Black Friday. Check back and I'll have it for ya! I might have to bribe my sis to type it out for me;) Again, I apologize for the delay in visiting your blogs, but I will see you soon! Have a great week, Friends! What are your plans for Thanksgiving?

That sucks about your wrist! Sometimes I think I may be developing carpel tunnel but I never ask my doctor about it and I really should. I love how you blinged out the brace as well.

Sorry about your arm, I get carpal tunnel in my right arm also, from doing clerical work these past 8 years. When it gets bad I have to use a sports brace.
Your bold attempt at making your brace look lovely is laudable! Kudos to you!!! Glad to see you sporting holiday spirit even though you could easily pout and sulk--Yay, You!
love that tree! gonna go get one right now!

Oh I'm sorry to hear about your carpal tunnel. That's a nasty thing, my Mum had it a few years ago. BUt I love that you try to be positive and decorate the brace with bracelets :)
Cheer up, it won't last forever.

Oh darling, I hope your wrist gets better soon. I'm sure it is pretty annoying...as a kid I broke my arm a few times and I know how annoying it can be to not be able to do simple tasks! Hope you have a speedy recovery (although you should def use this time to catch up on any movies and tv shows you have missed) xo
you have pretty hands! I did wear that kind of braces before, mine was black. Great idea about blinging the brace. I hope you get well soon.
Oh, dear -- I hope your arm feels better soon! And what a pretty photo of your tree -- I love holiday decor!

Hope you feel better *hugs
Aw man! That stinks. Sorry you're having to wear that thing. I've had trouble with my hands and wrists in the past but it's never gotten to a point where I had to go to the doctor. I guess I should be careful, though, because I do a lot of writing and typing. :/ Hope it gets better soon!
By the way, I so want a mini usb Christmas tree. Too cool!
:o)Sarah
